Hi, can you post an update to this article and compare to the way things are now with regards to any improvement of functionality since the Google merger?

To back fill your inventory is to fill it will another source of advertising if the premium or first source can not serve an advertisement for the request. IE "iAds could not fill the request for the advertisement so it was back filled by AdMob."

Over a year since you posted and networks like Admob are still blowing my doors off with ghost clicks - it's ridiculous. For once I'm actually glad Google bought them out so we might end up with some kind of method to clean up the analytics.

I've been testing ads on and off for about 3 weeks on Admob. I've tested a number of different types of campaigns and found that if done right, you can run a successful campaign. I'm promoting a zip submit CPA product. it took a bit of playing with some of the features, and certainly limiting the market, but overall I'm pleasantly surprised by the response I got.

I would love to try some of the additional features such as using Admob to generate calls for a call center, etc. I will be keeping a close eye on them and continue testing various formats.

I just ran an ad for the first time on AdMob last night for a clickbank product that was not at all related to my NASCAR store just to see how many clicks it would get. Six hours later, I blew through the entire $50 ad budget at only 3 cents per click (no sales, though).

My conclusion is that it might best be used as a means of list building rather than as an actual sales tool. I will be testing this in the future!

Hi Garrett,

Using the Admob SDK you can do limited demo targeting but the main problem is that they are not using it, we never saw any evidence of the demo data we sent in via the SDK being used for any targeting at all.

Hmmm... I was always wondering how to target people with Admob. How can we build a successful campaign if we can't target demographics? Targeting by "iPhone" or "Blackberry" doesn't really mean anything as a direct response marketer.

Is there something I'm missing here?
