About Jon Carroll

Jon has been a Software Architect at Infomedia developing iPhone applications since July of 2008. He is a grad student at the University of Colorado working on a MS in Telecommunications and hold a BS in Information Systems from Oklahoma Christian University. Jon has over 10 year of experience in the information technology industry. He worked for Cybertronix, Oklahoma Christian University IT Services, the U.S. Department of Defense, and Foundation Surgery Affiliates before coming to Infomedia. Jon decided he wanted to be a programmer in the 2nd grade and learned his first programming language when he was in the 4th grade. By the time he was a freshman in high school AOL Time Warner's lawyers were after him for using their intellectual property in hugely popular Harry Potter games he programmed and gave away for free on the internet. In his free time Jon enjoys pictures of cats with funny captions, Star Trek, programming, naps, and telecommunications policy.

Skype for iPhone causes legal debate, FCC asked to take action

Since the release of Skype for the iPhone and iTouch last week it has been downloaded over 2 million times. That breaks down to about 2-3 downloads per second since it was released on March 31 despite being limited to use on a Wi-Fi connection and not a cellular connection. Continue reading
